Windows Software for Web Developers/Designers/SEOers

Ok, work in progress, but I am rebuilding my Windows PC. I am getting rid of Windows 8.1 as I simply can't live with it anymore, I've tried, but it's no good I want to go back to Windows 7. Now rebuilding this Windows PC is not something I'm doing on a whim, it's a pain in the arse frankly! My main desktop day to day PC runs Crunchbang Linux and I would use this OS for everything if I could. However, some software just has to be run on Windows to get the best from it and I need to test on a Windows PC so I need one unfortunately.

I'm going to make a list of software I'm going to reinstall here, mainly for me, but someone might find it usefull I guess:

Office/Documents

  • MS Office - Excel is still the best
  • Sumatra PDF
  • DropBox
  • Google Drive

System

  • Clipboard Fusion - scrubs text when you copy/paste - excellent app
  • 7Zip - best compression software I've found
  • Tortoise SVN
  • WinMerge
  • OpenVPN
  • McAfee - I know, but I get it free with my PlusNet broadband so might as well use it
  • Oracle VM Virtual Box - for testing all those annoying IE versions die IE9!

Text Editors

  • Sublime Text
  • Poedit
  • Notepad ++

Graphics/Design

  • The Gimp
  • Inkscape
  • ShareX - has a good screen colour picker
  • Adobe CS4 - This is the version I have, I only have it to open files from designers, don't use it for any productivity tasks, just viewing really. Having said that, you can't really beat the weaver of dreams for email template dev

Media

  • VLC Media Player
  • Calibre - E-Books manager

Online Marketing/SEO

  • AdWords Editor
  • BingAds Editor
  • Screaming Frog

Web Dev

  • FileZilla
  • xampp
  • Node.js
  • Ruby

Browsers

  • Firefox
  • Chrome
  • Chromium

Comms

  • Skype - ugh, needed for comms with some clients
